The Visa Application Centre (VAC) in New York has closed. For any information, please contact the Consulate General of Canada in New York website or Citizenship and Immigration Canada for information.
You can use the Application Tracker to check the status of your application found on the left hand menu.
You may mail in your application, or your passport if filing an e-application, to the VAC in Los Angeles at the following address:

Work Permits must be sent directly to the Consulate General of Canada in New York.
If you have paid the VAC fee prior to the VAC closure and you were unable to use our service, please follow these instructions to ask for reimbursement:
The client must submit the following documentation via E-mail:
- Copy of check
- Telephone number, email address and address
Applicant should submit documentation indicated above, once he has the documentation they need to send it via Email to the following account: email@example.com
We will process the reimbursement payment.
When you submit your application to the VAC you will be given a tracking ID number that you can use to check the status of your application by entering here.
If you mailed in your application, you will receive your tracking ID information by email or phone. If you have included your email in your application package you are consenting to receive information by email.
If you have submitted an application for a Temporary Resident Visa, a Study Permit, a Work Permit or a Travel Document for Permanent Residents at the Visa Application Centre, you can check the status of your application here by entering:
- Your Tracking Number and your date of birth.
