The Visa Application Centres (VACs) are the exclusive service provider for the Government of Canada, authorized to accept applications for Study Permits, Work Permits, Temporary Resident Visas, and Travel Documents for Permanent Residents, for transmission to the High Commission of Canada in Jamaica. VAC personnel verify that application forms have been thoroughly completed and signed, are accompanied by the requested supporting documents and verify that the required application fee has been paid. They also arrange passport return through DHL or by having the result picked up directly at the VAC. The VAC is not authorized to accept Permanent Resident applications. For more information on this matter please visit www.cic.gc.ca.
The VACs are set up solely to provide visa application administrative support and are optional to submit your application. The VAC has no decision making authority to issue or refuse a visa or a permit. VAC staff have no influence over the outcome of the application and should not be solicited for advice. All applications will be assessed by the officers of the High Commission of Canada in accordance with Canada’s immigration visa rules and guidelines. The decision to issue or refuse a visa is made solely by the immigration officers at the High Commission of Canada.
Please note that the following items are prohibited from the VAC at all times: alcohol, illegal drugs, and weapons, including firearms, explosives, knives or chemicals of any kind.
Important Notice: The Visa Application Centre (VAC) only provides general information and administrative services related to temporary resident applications, including study and work permits, as well as travel documents for permanent residents of Canada. The VAC is not authorized to provide any information, or respond to any inquiries, regarding permanent resident applications and Canadian consular services. This includes Express Entry for skilled immigrants, online application support, Canadian citizenship and any specific information about the visa application forms, the supporting documents or any advice related to the visa application process. Please visit Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s website at www.cic.gc.ca for more information on these programs.
The Electronic Travel authorization (eTA) from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is a new entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals (apart from U.S. citizens and other specified exempt travelers) travelling to Canada by air. There is a voluntary enrolment period until the eTA becomes mandatory on March 15, 2016. The online application is available at www.Canada.ca/eTA.
